Information Session at the 42 JAIIO
The National Directorate of International Relations, from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, through the Liaison Office Argentina - European Union, will offer on September 16, 2013 a special information session on the opportunities  offered by the funding programs of the European Union for Argentine Institutions in the ICT area, as part of the 42 Jornadas Argentinas de Informática (42nd  Argentinean Conference on Computer Sciences), organized by the  Sociedad Argentina de Informática  (Argentine Society of Computer Sciences, SADIO).
Information Videoconferences

In the framework of ABEST III Project and Programme, and upon the launching of Horizon 2020, the Liaison Office Argentina-European Union in Science, Technology and Innovation is organizing a round of informative videoconferences to disseminate on-going opportunities for cooperation and cooperation activities with the European Union as well.

COST Felowships Funding - August 2013

The National Directorate of International Relations, of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, through the Liaison Office Argentina-European Union calls for the submission of applications for funding COST 2013 grants under the Reciprocal Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry and the COST Program of the European Union.


AMERICAS Project: Study on joint ICT strategies for EU-LAC

AMERICAS Project partners, including the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina, have prepared the " Feasibility study on joint strategies EU-Latin America sub-region for future cooperation initiatives" in order to assess existing conditions to establish new strategies of cooperation between the two regions in the ICT sector, and identify a wide range of financing mechanisms that can be used to implement joint cooperation initiatives. 


Meeting between science and industry in the area of biorefineries and bioenergy

The Meeting was held on June 7 in Antwerp, Belgium, under the organization of the Institute of Plant Biotechnology Outreach (VIB-Ugent) in the framework of the ALCUE-KBBE project, and in parallel to the 9th International Conference on Renewable Resources and Biorefineries. During the event, Latin American and Caribbean companies and research institutions presented their technology capacities and discussed opportunities for cooperation with European stakeholders.


ICT Forum in Brasilia

Organized by the AMERICAS Project, funded by the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Union, a new ICT Forum will be held in 31 July in Brasilia, Brazil. The event is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), the Brazilian National Education and Research Network (RNP) and the European Commission. Main speakers are: Yolanda Ursa from INMARK Spain, AMERICAS project coordinator; Augusto Afonso de Albuquerque, representative from the EU Delegation in Brazil; and Guillaume Ernst, B.Bice + project coordinator .


Working Meeting among Liaison Offices

On the occasion of the 4th INCO Conference, held on June 17-19 in Marseille, France, Ms. Monica Silenzi, technical coordinator of the Liaison Office Argentina - European Union (ABEST III), actively participated with other offices Latin American Liaison at a working meeting for seeking synergies and common interest in upcoming Horizon 2020 activities.


People Programme: Information Day on Mobility

In the framework of the People Network + Project, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation through the National Directorate of International Relations organizes an Mobility Information Day on July 9th in Bogotá, Colombia, in conjunction with the Department of Administrative Science, Technology and Innovation, COLCIENCIAS, from the Republic of Colombia.


EU-LAC ICT & e-Infrastructures Conference

Dr. Sergio Matheos, Research Infrastructures NCP and Institutional Coordination Secretary from the Ministry of Science Technology and Productive Innovation, will attend the e-Infrastructures Conference organized by the project AMERICAS on 3-4 October in Campeche, Mexico. Dr. Matheos’s participation is thought to meet the opportunities of e-Infrastructures for EU-LAC cooperation in R&D, the impact of e-infrastructures used in different domains of e-Science (Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, data access and storage, Astronomy & Astrophysics) and to explore how to strengthen networking between ICT and e-infrastructure communities to exchange views, share information and identify new opportunities for collaboration in benefit of e-Science.



Argentina participates at the 4th INCO Conference

On 17-19 June, Ms. Monica Silenzi, International Cooperation NCP, attended the 4th INCO Conference held in Marseille, France, in the framework of the "INCONTACT-One World" official network of NCPs in the area of International Cooperation. One of the main themes of the conference was the future of international cooperation in research and innovation between Europe and Third Countries. Ms. Silenzi presented the experience of Argentina participation in specific initiatives and explored opportunities and funding sources for projects of mutual interest between the EU and other regions.


Visit of the Head of EEAS Mercosur Division

Dr. Adrianus Koetsenruijter, Head of the Mercosur Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS), has visited the new offices of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation on 14 June 2013 to exchange knowledge of the Argentina – European Union cooperation in science, technology and innovation and visit the Biomedicine Laboratory MINCYT-Max Planck located at the new scientific-technological Pole.
