The Liaison Office Argentina European Union is located in the Technological Scientific Center (Polo Científico Tecnológico).

 

The Scientific and Technological Pole is a center of management, production and dissemination of knowledge. This institution is considered nationally and internationally, as an important center for national academic and scientific development.

 

At these premises, International Interdisciplinary Innovation Institutes (I4), are established which promote international relations between Argentina and the world in research and development in science, technology and productive innovation. These are:

 

- Institute for Research in Biomedicine of Buenos Aires CONICET - Institute partner Max Planck Society in Buenos Aires: current issues dedicated to life sciences, especially in the field of biomedical research.
- Research and Training Unit, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) it is a multidisciplinary unit that will focus on the areas of biosafety, bioethics, intellectual property rights.
- Bilateral Industrial Design Centre (Argentina-Italy): The Center, dedicated to investigate the relationship between industrial design and new technologies, involving several Italian institutions: the Milan Polytechnic, the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, the IUAV Venice and the Second University of Naples.
- Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Science, Technology and Innovation (CIECTI): this center is focused the Social Sciences and works jointly with local universities and multilateral organizations.

 

In a second phase, it is expected to include a Modeling and Visualization Center and other institutes related to Nanotechnology, Biophysical Chemistry, Exact Sciences and Technology, among other disciplines.
